Control Blankie from Anywhere

Blankie hooks into the system's Now Playing controls. Once your soundscape is going, you rarely need the app in front of you.

On Mac

• Media keys: the play/pause key on your keyboard controls Blankie like any music app.
• Menu bar: the Now Playing item in the macOS menu bar shows your active preset, with play/pause right there.
• Controls menu: inside the app, the Controls menu has Play/Pause too.

On iPhone and iPad

• Lock screen: your preset's name and artwork show up with playback controls, the same as a music app.
• Control Center: the Now Playing tile plays and pauses your mix from anywhere.

From your headphones

AirPods and other headphones with playback controls do what you'd expect. Press to pause your soundscape, press again to pick it back up. Pausing keeps the whole mix intact, so every sound and volume returns exactly where you left it.

From the car

Why pause instead of stop?

Pausing never clears your mix. Whatever you had going (a three-sound rain blend at volumes you tuned by hand) is one tap from playing again.
